A masculine & natural Botox approach, just for men. Give it up for “Bro-Tox”.

Hey guys…yes…you can get Botox. And nobody has to know!

In general, I’ve found that men associate plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgery, and facelift procedures with the real housewives or the Kardashians. Men see these extreme and largely feminine examples of cosmetic procedures and want to run for the hills.  But….what men are missing, is that many masculine celebrities and sports stars (Like The Rock and Tom Brady) are doing minor procedures and maintenance Botox treatments behind closed doors. Overdone cosmetic procedures and botched facelifts get all the press and attention, whereas the men who are doing a little Botox on their forehead or augment their jawline with a little filler fly under the radar. These men just look naturally great. Guys who get it right go unnoticed, and don’t have everyone talking about their face.  They simply look natural and ageless.  Generally, guys don’t want to have sudden changes that prompt coworkers to ask about what has happened to their face.  As I am not a plastic surgeon, I offer no plastic surgery or extreme change to a man’s face. I instead offer noticeable but understated wrinkle treatments and targeted dermal fillers for a look that doesn’t advertise that men have “had work done”.

In addition to getting understated and masculine results, men also deserve privacy with discreet Botox and filler treatments that they can get in-home. All of my treatments are short and accomplished in 20-60 minutes, without prolonged recovery times.  Concierge, in-home service is especially valuable for men.  Most men prefer not to walk into a plastic surgery clinic and sit in a waiting room with a bunch of women.  Men want their face to appear younger, but don’t want embarrassment or the stigma that goes along with plastic surgery.  However, when offered botulinum toxins in the privacy of their home, I’ve found that men are much more comfortable giving “Bro-tox” a try.

There are some key differences you should know between men and women with respect to Botox.  Dosing, for instance, is very different for men due to larger, more dense and stronger facial muscles.  Consequently, men usually need up to 25-50% more units than women. Men also prefer for their eyebrows to have a flatter shape that is closer to the brow bone. This differs from women, who often prefer a slightly arched eyebrow that is above the brow bone.  So, when I inject men, I really pay attention to the brow.  In order to preserve a masculine look, I use customized forehead and crow’s feet injection sites to maintain a natural male brow shape and height.  The most common places men get Botox is in the upper 3rd of the face.  Men often want to target the corners of the eyes to prevent crow’s feet, between the eyebrows to target frown lines (11’s) and in the forehead to reduce horizontal lines.

Botox and fillers are temporary, non-invasive and are low risk.  The men I see are not throwing away their man cards.  Instead, they are boosting their confidence and are maintaining their strong, youthful face.  Men can trust me because I’m not someone who overdoes things.  I always start with lower dose injections and can always come back and do more.  I promise my male patients that there will be no humiliation, no fear, and no extreme or feminine changes.  All of my patients still get to look like themselves.
