Lumecca IPL

Lumecca is one of the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments on the market. This treatment delivers up to 3 times more energy than other IPLs and drastically improves pigmentation, superficial vessels, and overall skin tone. Lumecca provides a photo-facial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment and can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are those that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What does it feel like?

Patients report a tingly or a mild rubber band snap sensation. Most patients report to tolerate the treatment well with no or very minimal discomfort. There is usually no need for anesthetic.

What is the downtime?

There is no physical downtime and social downtime for most patients is very minimal. On the first day, a sunburn appearance is typical. Lumecca targets and causes the pigment to darken first and then the pigment dissipates over the course of 2 weeks. Depending on the severity of underlying pigment each patient will experience a different social downtime. We recommend giving yourself a full 2 weeks following the procedure where you have no important events scheduled or photos to be taken, as your spots will appear darker for 2 weeks. Make-up can be applied over any spots immediately following treatment, so you can return to your normal every day activities right away.

How long does it take?

Depending on the treatment area, Lumecca treatment only typically takes 20-30 minutes.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

Recommended treatment protocol is a series of three sessions. However, most patients do see a significant improvement in just 1-2 sessions compared to a standard IPL which require 4-6 sessions.

When will I see results?

Lumecca provides excellent results in as little as 1-3 sessions, compared to other IPL treatments that can take 4-6 sessions. Two weeks after a single session, patients notice significant improvements in their complexion and clarity of the skin.

How much does it cost?

Cost is individualized to the size of the area treated but generally is $99/session for small spot treatments and $299/session for larger areas (ie chest, full face, arms).
